Friends of the BOS / BBF
The large numbers of positive reactions to BOS broadcasts led to the initiative to set up a foundation made up of friends of the Buddhist Broadcast Foundation. Foundations do not have members, but patrons. The foundation of friends was set up in addition to the BOS
as a separate legal body to allow for activities apart from those related to broadcasting.

Programme policy
The programming of the BOS comprises:
-Programs with topics from Buddhism itself, such as the Four Noble Truths, a series about the paramitas, the ten positive and ten negative actions, etc.
-Programs about the relationship correspondences and differences between Buddhism and Western philosophy, science, ethics, ecology, practices, forms of organization, etc.

Organisation and the logo
The BOS has chosen the capital of the pillars of Ashoka as the basis for its logo.
Emperor Ashoka had pillars erected at every site where the Historical Buddha performed important deeds; the so-called Pillars of Ashoka. The pillars had a four-lion capital, with the lions roaring the Dharma (the teaching of the Buddha) to the four directions of the compass.
