In 1983 Joko Beck became the third Dharma Heir of Maezumi Roshi. Since that time she has been teaching at the Zen Center in San Diego.
Few Zen teachers embody the Zen quality of ‘nothing special’ like she does, due to her remarkable presence, clarity and simplicity
"When every moment of your life is your practice, there is then an erosion of the ordinary way of seeing things. We are trying to get some magic at the end and ignore all the hard training that needs to go in-between. Practice is a path you go down, not a place you get to."
