Watch in Realplayer (broadband - not available outside of the Netherlands)Watch in Realplayer (slow connection)Composer Philip Glass plays at the presentation of the book 'Good Life, Good Death' of his learning master Gehlek Rinpoche. Glass emphasizes the importance of the personal transmission of dharma, the teaching of the Buddha. Since he was eight years old he has been familiar with the unique bond between teacher and pupil, as it was also pre-eminent in his music education.
Gehlek Rinpoche clarifies the subject of his book 'Good Life, Good Death': "You attain a good death by living a good life." To give one of the examples to illustrate possible positive ways of dying, they commemorate the death of their mutual friend, the poet Allen Ginsberg.
